Four Pre-Work Mindfulness Habits to Generate Success

Mindfulness habits

Work is about making a living and building your career. It demands logic, constant contribution of your specialties, and attention to detail to get the job done right. When you are in work mode, it’s easy to forget to practice mindfulness. That is where stress, overeating, and lack of fulfillment at work may occur. To get yourself into a mindset of calm and peace within your work week, try creating some pre-work mindfulness habits.  By doing this, you will create some positive vibes when starting your work day. Below, we have outlined creating mindfulness activities pre-work so that you can achieve happiness and success post-work:

Deep breathing meditation

One of the best mindfulness habits that helps with success at work is deep breathing exercises. The 4-7-8 technique is about slowly inhaling for 4 seconds through your nose, holding your breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling completely for 8 seconds through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. This is one breath. Try doing this 2 times at first, so that your body can get used to it. Then do as many as you would like to achieve the feeling of calm to get you in the work flow.

The breathing method of 4-7-8 Breath (also known as the Relaxing Breath) is the perfect, portable stress antidote, as it puts the practitioner in a relaxed state almost immediately.- Dr. Weil

Once you are done with your meditative breathing, you can start your work day on the right foot!

Self love brings professional respect

Self love represents every mindfulness activity. Through honoring our emotions and feelings by taking consistent self-loving action, we train our bodies and minds to receive not only in our personal life but in our professional life. For example, when we know how to love ourselves, we can be better equipped to ask for that next promotion at work with greater confidence.

Your truth will become balanced once you prioritize your self-worth. Spend time with people who value you. Invest in others that invest in your growth.

Start your day with positive affirmations

So many people love to complain and focus on the negatives.  If you punish yourself and label yourself as lazy, unmotivated, a failure, etc. (you will be surprised how often we do that on a daily basis), those negative words trickle into your behavior and impact who you are. – Valeria Lipovetsky

Positive thoughts and positive affirmations have the ability to transform our emotional and mental state. If you are feeling down in the morning and want to change your mood, practice mindfulness.

Gratitude is the ultimate 80/20 principle I use in my life. Meaning it has the most positive impact in all areas of my life with minimal effort. Here is how I started with gratitude and you can too. When you wake up tomorrow… try to have your first thought to be about one thing you are grateful for. – Alex Ikonn

Write in your journal every day and fill it up with words of gratitude. Watch your emotions shift within a few hours to a positive flow.

Balance your own authentic Masculine and Feminine Energies

We all have inner masculine and feminine energies. When balanced, we have a greater capacity to be happy and successful. The feminine energy is about creation, and the masculine energy is about action. The simple act of creating authentic mindfulness activities will essentially help manifest better quality work.

As you tune into your masculine side, you can get more determined, authentic, and empowered to strengthen that mind/body connection and accomplish more work-related tasks.
